Why do I go to work?

The title of this blog is so negative and I hate being negative, but I am completely frustrated with my job right now! We are soooooo busy and have so much work that we are all ready to completely lose our minds. My job and that of my co-workers is not an independent job...we rely on experts within our organization to do our job. These "experts" are in charge of the functional areas in our organization. I googled the word "expert" online and the definition is as follows:
having, involving, or displaying special skill or knowledge derived from training or experience.
Based on this definition, the people we work with should be called something other than experts. They don't take responsibility for the stuff their are assigned and they don't suffer any consequences because of it. UGH! I wish I had a job where I was able to work independently and still get my job done. It would be a much better situation, that's for sure! I hate the fact that I feel this way, because for the most part, I truly enjoy my job. I am just completely frustrated right now with the lack of responsibility these people have and they are supposed to be professionals. But, this too shall pass!

On to something more uplifting! Brody, Brody, Brody! I tell you.......no matter what happens with work and how frustrated I am when I am at work, leaving work, and on my way home, Brody definitely makes my day better! He is such a happy boy and he always puts a smile to my face. Tonight when I got home (at 7:00 pm!), Ted had him in the chair with him and he was laying on Ted's chest. When I walked in and he saw me, he got so excited! That warms my heart and makes me forget about all the things that I have had to deal with during the day! My dad even commented that he can't believe how laid back and happy he is!

Tomorrow, he will be 6 months old! Crazy. He has his 6 month checkup next Tuesday and I will be curious to see how much he weighs. Ted weighed himself and then got on the scale with Brody and the difference was 22 lbs! Goodness! My little man is a big boy! But considering his birth weight, it is all relative. He started out big, but now that he is moving around more and more, he should start slowing down on the gainin weight.

Today, he started carrots. We found out that he is not a big fan of green beans, and I am not sure he was totally crazy about the sweet potatoes. So far, he likes peas and bananas. After the carrots, he will have squash and then I will move on to othe fruits. I still think that no matter what you put in front of him, he will eat it, whether he likes it or not. He is definitely not picky like his mother! I actually was gagging a little bit when I fed him the green beans because I HATE green beans. But...we do what we need to for our kids, right? I am realizing that more and more everyday!

Well....I am working from home tomorrow (YAY!) and I hope everyone has a great Friday and good weekend! :)
