Last week I took Brody to the doctor. For the past couple of months, he has been fighting a double ear infection. The antibiotics they had him on weren't touching it and when he went for his 15 month check up, which was two weeks ago, his doctor put him on Zithromax. Apparently that is a stronger antibiotic which she said should clear it up. His doctor also gave me the number of the ENT because she said he shouldn't be having to fight this hard to get rid of them, especially since it is not cold and flu season. So we did the antiobiotic for 5 days. Well, 2 days after he took his last dosage, he started running a fever. That was last Saturday. He only went to daycare 2 days last week because we couldn't seem to knock the fever out. Since he was still running a fever last Thursday, I called and got him in on Friday. My doctor wasn't there so I saw another one in the practice and he checked his ears out and said while he still had fluid in his ears, it was clear fluid and there was no infection! Whew! Thank goodness. He still told me to keep the appointment with the ENT because he needs to be seen and possibly talk about tubes!
Well, I thought the ears might have been the culprit, but since the ears checked out fine I wasn't sure what was going on. He did the typically check of the lungs, the nose and when he got to his throat, he nodded his head and said "yep, just what I thought." He then sat back and said, "Looks like he has a virus called coxsackie virus." I said "Huh? Whatddy say?" Apparently, it is similar to hand, foot and mouth disease, but they only have the blisters in the back of their throat, not on their hands or feet. He had asked me if he was having any other issues other than the fever. Had he been having trouble eating, drinking, and sleeping. I said nope, nope, and nope. Well, apparently the virus just has to run its course and he said to push plenty of liquids and give him the tylenol/motrin mixture for the fever and pain. Well, he didn't have a fever all weekend so I think he was on the tail end of this virus when I took him on Friday. I think he is all better now. Have you ever heard of that virus? I certainly didn't! Pretty crazy. Damn daycare is just a breeding ground for germs. Tab calls it a petrie dish! So true!
I am worried about our visit to the ENT. It is scheduled for August 5th at the children's hospital, but I am on the cancellation list in case something opens up sooner. I absolutely don't want him to get tubes because they have to put him out for it and I remember seeing my poor nephew after he had his tonsils out when he came out of the anesthesia and it broke my heart. I was supposed to be there for Christy as the strong one, and broke down right with her! I can't even imagine it being Brody! But, from everything I have heard, the tubes are the best thing for them when they are having issues with their ears and who knows? They may not even suggest going down that route. We will just have to wait and see.
On to the youngest......I have officially started to feel the baby move. Just little flutters here and there, but enough for me to know that he or she is here! Pretty exciting. I go to the doctor next Friday and I have to do my glucose test for gestational diabetes. They are testing me early since he thinks I may have been borderline. UGH! I certainly hope I don't have it! But, we will wait and see on that one. At that appointment, I will hopefully schedule my 20 week ultrasound for 2 weeks later to find out what we are having. Ted has some trips coming up, but it looks like he will be around the second week of August, which is when I can hopefully schedule it! I am so excited. I have a feeling it is a girl, but I totally would not be upset if it is another boy. It would be nice to close the family with a girl since we already have 2 boys, but 3 boys wouldn't be bad either!
Not much is going on with Ethan. He has been playing outside much more, which makes me so happy. Since it is the summer time, I would much rather he be playing outside than inside playing the computer or watching TV. The kids next door are outside a lot too and they are alwasy coming over to see if he can come out. They seem to have a good time together, which is nice. It definitely is nice for him to have kids to play with.
Don't have new pictures to post just yet. I have kind of been lazy with the camera. Although, tonight we did break out Brody's little potty and have been teaching him to sit on it. I think it is time. After his bath, he has started this habit of coming into his room, squatting and start peeing on the floor. So, the potty came out and we are going to see if we can get him to start using that. This is one task I am not looking forward to, but you have to start sometime! He knows what we are talking about when we ask him if he needs to go pee-pee. He squats, grabs his diaper and says "pee-pee, pee-pee" Hopefully, the word association will help with this daunting task!
Anyway, that is an update on all of us! Hope everyone is doing well and have a great week!

Holiday Weekend
Hope everyone had a safe holiday weekend. Ours was pretty relaxing. I went up and saw Tab, Kevin, and Mallory again. In just one weeks time, that baby has already changed. She is so cute. She is a bit heavier and now when she is awake, she is definitely more alert and just loves to look around.
We have Ethan for the whole month of July! YAY! We are going to try and figure out what fun things we will plan while he is here. Hopefully, he will let me take some pictures of him! In the meantime, here are some I took the past two weekends.

Mallory Mae is here!
So, Tab finally had her baby on Wednesday. It was a pretty rough two days, but she ended up having her c-section on Wednesday night. She weighed 7 lbs. 11 ounces (not as big as we thought) and she is beautiful. Tab did an amazing job. She is so strong, much stronger than she gave herself credit for! You did good Mommy! :)
I can't wait for Brody to meet his wife! :) Just kidding!

Ethan's Birthday and Father's Day
Yesterday was Ethan's Birthday. It is the first time in 11 years that his birthday was on father's day. The last time was when he was born! So we had a nice little celebration for him yesterday. Of course, the good who doesn't need anything got mucho money and went out and bought what? A Nintendo DSi, another video game! Hopefully, he will start to outgrow this phase. But my neighbor bought him a water gun and he played with that outside and my other neighbor took him to a baseball game Saturday night. I have the best neighbors! They are super sweet!

Ted is such an awesome father! He is so great with both his boys and I know he will be just as great to Baby X (which is what we are calling it until we find out). We can only hope we have as good of a baby as Brody, but if not, we can definitely deal with it. We are blessed to have the family we have and I am so lucky to have Ted in our lives! Thanks Babe! You are the best!
Here are some pictures from this weekend. Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Happy Birthday Gramma Crumb!
Today is Ted’s Mom’s birthday! Happy Birthday Gramma Crumb! We wish we were there to celebrate with you, but we will see you soon!
Nothing much to report. This past weekend, Ted and I decided to go out on a date and my parent’s kept Brody. We went out to dinner and we both aren’t sure if we ate something bad or what, but we didn’t feel that great all weekend. Ted actually hadn’t been feeling well since last Tuesday. We were tag teaming taking care of Brody. Thank goodness Brody didn’t pick up anything. I am not sure if mine was bug related or pregnancy related, but I am definitely feeling better now.
So we are still in a waiting game with Tab. Her due date is tomorrow and nothing yet. They said if she hasn’t progressed by next week, they will get things started! Pretty exciting. At the latest, Mallory Mae will be here next week! I can’t wait! J
I took some pictures this weekend and will try and post them later!
Have a great day! Two more days to go until the weekend! YAY!

Pictures and a Video
Here are some pictures from this weekend at Tab's. Also, I took this video tonight of him in the bath. This is one of my favorite times with him. He loves his bath!!!
As you can see, Tab is ready to have this baby!!
Here he is playing peek-a-boo!
Here are a few pics and a video from his bath tonight! Super cute!
Long time gone…..and lots to say. Bear with me!
So, it has been a long time since I posted last. It seems like I have every intention of posting and then when it comes time to do it, I am either too busy or too tired to post! Crazy, I know. But, chasing after a 14 month old and growing a human can be real tiring at the same time. Plus, I tend to feel more nauseous at night, which I hope will start fading in the next couple of weeks since I am just about entering my second trimester! But, I feel very blessed to have the 14 month old to chase around and to have this other little one growing in my belly so I am definitely not complaining!
So the last couple of weeks have been pretty rough. Ted and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary (it was May 28th). Since it was a Thursday, we decided to have a date on Friday night and go to dinner and a movie and my parents watched Brody. We thought about going to a nice restaurant at the beach, but I told him that since I am nauseous at night, I didn’t want to drive all the way out there and not feel like eating, so we decided to stay close to home. Plus, the movie I wanted to see wasn’t out in the theater yet so that was a bummer. Anyway, while we were enjoying our dinner, my dad called and said that my grandmother fell at her assisted living place and they needed to take her to the ER. So much for our date….but we were not upset at all! We got our food to go and met my parents at my grandmother’s place. She was so out of it and apparently she hit her head. We picked up Brody and I drove back up to the ER to check on my grandma. They decided to admit her to run some more tests. She was extremely weak, could hardly talk, and she had a fever that they were concerned with. Now mind you, this is a woman who will be 96 this year and she has never had one single illness or surgery….picture perfect health.
Well, the next day when I went up to the hospital, my Mom said they thought she had a urinary tract infection, which apparently whoops older folks’ butts! They said the infection can cause dementia and weakness in older people. So the plan was to treat that and keep her in the hospital for a couple of days and then release her to a skilled nursing facility that could provide some physical therapy to get her stronger. Well, that was Saturday. On Sunday morning, my dad called to tell me that she had MRSA! Say what? Apparently she was extremely contagious and they had to wear gloves, masks, and gowns when they were in contact with her. He told me he thought it wouldn’t be safe for me to be up there nor should I bring Brody. I totally agreed.
Anyway, that continued for a few days and they brought in an infectious diseases doctor to do some more testing. The conclusion was that she didn’t have MRSA, but had another type of serious staph infection. They have no idea how she got it, but at least they knew how to treat it. So, she was released from the hospital this past Friday and was transferred to a skilled nursing facility near my parent’s house where she has to have IV antibiotics for another 5 weeks!! But she is on the mend. I swear, this woman has 15 lives! The only bad thing to come out of this is that my parents had to cancel their trip to the Bahamas for their 40th wedding anniversary! My parents have been married for 40 years!!!!!!! I can’t even imagine, but there is no one else that would make either of them happier!
So, that was two weeks ago. Last week, I came home from work on Tuesday, not feeling great myself, and took one look at Brody and knew something was wrong. His eyes were puffy and red and he had this goop in them. It got worse that night and Ted and I agreed that if it was still bad in the morning, I was going to take him to the doctor. Well, I went to get him Wednesday morning and my poor little guy’s right eye was matted shut. I called the doctor’s office and Brody’s doctor was working the hospital that day so we saw another doctor in the practice. He knew right away what I feared…..pink eye! I told him he had some congestion and a little cough. He took one look in his ears and said another thing I didn’t want to hear....double ear infection! He said since it was so close to the last time, he didn’t think it was a new one but just the same one hanging on. He gave him a different antibiotic than he had the last time and said he needed to stay on it until his 15 month check up on the 23rd. Then he said since it was June and he couldn’t get rid of this ear infection, he said that he wouldn’t stand a chance during cold and flu season. He said that if this antibiotic didn’t knock it out, then they would start talking about putting tubes in his ears! REALLY? I was kind of shocked by that because this is only his second ear infection. But, I am going to talk to Brody’s regular pediatrician, who I love, and see what she says! But, in the mean time, the pink eye was better the next day with the help of antibiotic drops. Here is a mental picture….trying to get eye drops in a 14 month old’s eyes! It was just shocking to find out he still had the ear infection because he doesn’t even act sick! He isn’t fussy or grumpy or look or act sick! But hopefully this antibiotic will help. We shall see!
This past weekend, we went to Tab and Kevin’s for a little casual cookout on Saturday. She is about ready to pop….actually today is 39 weeks for her. I took a couple of pictures that I will post once I download them so you can get the real picture. We are all so excited for little Mallory to make her arrival! She has become a little feisty these last couple of weeks, but really, who can blame her? I know she is ready to have her body back and to meet her little girl. Hopefully, it will happen sooner rather than later.
On to my little bundle of joy….went to the doctor on May 29th and while they couldn’t hear the baby’s heartbeat, my doctor did a quick ultrasound and we saw the heartbeat. He said everything looks good and my next appointment is June 26th. They are going to test me for gestational diabetes sooner than the normal 28 weeks since I failed the first test last time and was pretty much borderline. I think that was a factor in Brody being as big as he was. Hopefully, this one will be a bit smaller! I will update everyone after that appointment.
Okay, I think I have covered everything. Sorry to be so long-winded, but I almost treat this like my journal sometimes. It is nice to get everything out! J
I will post some recent pictures later! Hope everyone has a good week!
