So Thankful!

I came across this blog the other day that this woman started as a tribute to her daughter who was diagnosed with numerous issues while still in utero and died shortly after birth. Her nephew, who was a couple months old, died of SIDS a couple weeks after her daughter. As I read the blog, I could not help but cry uncontrollably for this woman who experienced some of the worst things anyone could experience. However, she had the most amazing outlook on life and really believed that things happened for a reason. She is an extremely religious and spoke of the bible often, which I am not a real religious person, but was completely drawn to her blog. She wrote a letter to her daughter, thanking her for the little time that they did have and thanking God for brining this little girl to her life and family for even the shortest time.

As I was reading this, I could not stop thinking about every member of my family, especially Brody. I thank God every day for the fact that he was born with 10 fingers, 10 toes and that he is healthy and happy. I could not imagine having gone through what this woman went through and still managing to get up every day. I was talking to a friend of mine at work today who is getting ready to have her little boy. She was due on Monday, but nothing has happened yet so she is scheduled to be induced on Tuesday. I was telling her that no one can prepare you for how much you are able to love another human being until you see your baby's face!! I look at Brody and can not imagine my life without him. It seems crazy that up until a couple of months ago, I lived 28 years without the person in my life. Seeing him smile is the highlight of my day....every day!!
