Day One.....Crazy!

Yesterday was my first day back at work....and whew.....what a day! For the past 2 1/2 to 3 weeks, Brody has been sleeping for about 8 hours at night, from about 9:00 pm-5:00 am. Well...Sunday night, that all changed! I put him down at 9:00 and he went right to sleep. I heard him crying and thought "Is it 5:00 am already?" When I looked at the clock, it was only 1:45 am!!!!!!! I thought "you have got to be kidding me!" I let him fuss for a little bit with the hopes that he would fall back asleep. Nope! I went in there and put the pacifier back in his mouth a couple times hoping that would put him back to sleep! Wrong again! I finally went down to get a bottle and fed him about 3:30 am. He went right back down after that and I had to wake him up to take him to my parents house. I guess he sensed that a change was coming and didn't like it! Last night was better, but he still woke up earlier than normal for him and I fed him around 4:30. Not too bad! I am thinking he might be going through a growth spurt or he just needs to get adjusted to this new schedule!!

Since it was my first day back, I thought it wouldn't be too stressful. I figured I would check all my e-mails and talk to folks I haven't seen, maybe go to lunch! I didn't get a chance to do any of that because my boss wasn't here yesterday. Her dad has been in and out of the hospital for a couple months now and he passed away yesterday. I think she had been preparing for it but it is still difficult when it happens. I am assuming she won't be in for the rest of the week.

Then, my air conditioner repair people were scheduled to come out in the afternoon so I had to leave at 3:00. Luckily, it was just my thermostat downstairs and once they replaced it, my AC is pumping! THANK GOD! It is supposed to be in the high 80's today and 91 tomorrow. Not sure if Brody and I would have made it!

So, all in all, my first day was pretty busy, but it was all good! I thought I would be able to ease back in, but I had to jump! It is probably better just to get back into the swing of things! I just miss him during the day, but he is in good hands and of course, I call often!!
