Pictures and Pictures

Yet again, it has been a while since I have posted, but we have had a pretty busy week. Ted left this morning for San Diego and he will be back next Wednesday. He is home for a couple of days, then he leaves again on Saturday for his 2-week hunting trip. He is going to be back the Monday before Thanksgiving. I can't believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner....where has the year gone?

We had a pretty fun weekend. I took Ethan to karate on Saturday morning and then in the afternoon, my neighbor's kids came over and they were all playing Rock Band. Ethan is so good with the kids.....I think he loves that fact that he is the older one and can tell them what to do. But, he was very complimentary when they did something right and he tries to cheer them up when they get upset about not being able to do something or if they lose! Then, that evening, my two neighbors came over and we all played games, ate dinner and had some drinks. I had a little too much to drink that night, and felt like I was hit by a train the next morning, but I haven't done that in a long time. It was nice just to be able to relax at home.

The other night, Brody pulled himself up in his crib for the first time. I almost cried...my baby is growing up! He was sitting there and just grabbed on to the top of the crib and just pulled right up into a standing position. I was so excited...and sad all at the same time. I love him so much that sometimes I feel like I am going to burst! I want him to grow up, but at the same time, I wish he could stay this age forever!! He hasn't quite mastered crawling yet, but he is getting there. He has figured that if he wants to go anywhere, he will just roll to get there rather than crawling. I guess it is all the same to him.

And...he is such a ham in front of the camera. Yesterday, when I got home from work, Ted had him on the floor on his belly, trying to get him to crawl. He was fussing and when I got the camera out, he started smiling at the camera. He is just like his momma! :) Ethan, on the other hand, hates it when I get the camera out and won't let me take his picture very often. I was able to get a few though!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend!
Brody is starting to look more like a little boy and not a baby! :(

Brody is teething, I think, and he is constantly sucking on his bottom lip....

Ethan humored me and let me take his picture! :)Here are the kids playing Rock Band......

Ethan singing...he is actually a pretty good singer!

Here is a picture of my neighbor Michelle, her daughter Kaylie and Brody. Kaylie is more interested in him than playing with the other boys! I really can't blame her!

Brody and Daddy...

Brody is starting to hold his bottle more by himself.

Brody was sitting on the floor and rolled himself on to his knees and the pillow. I couldn't believe it. He is looking at Ted in this picture...

Tummy time...

Trying to crawl.....

Rocking back and forth.....

Bath time....Brody loves bath time!

I love his look in this picture.....the tossled hair.....the rolls....I love a baby after bath time!

Getting ready to go to sleep for the night...

Haven't Posted in a while!

I know I haven't posted in a while but this past week has been pretty hectic! Work, work and more work! I have a project that mails next Wednesday and I had to go to Washington on Monday night and it was a pretty hectic trip.

So I left Norfolk around 3:00, got into DC around 5:30 and then when left DC a little late and it was a direct flight to Seattle. I landed in Seattle around 9:30 pm PST, which was 12:30 am for me, went to get my luggage and of course, it was not there. When I went to the baggage claim counter, they said they had found it and it was on its way. The woman said they could deliver it to my hotel, but it would be around 3:00 am. I said that's fine...just as long as it arrives. So, I go to get my rental car and of course, the rental car place was not located in the airport. I had to take a shuttle to the rental car place and of course, it took forever once I got there. There was a guy behind the counter who said, "Smile! You look so mad!" I said, "I can't help it...they lost my luggage and I am tired and ready to go to bed." By the time I got my car, I pulled my directions to the hotel out and of course, could not find my way. It was raining and I was going the wrong way. About 10 minutes later, I realized that I was not going the right way, turned around and finally found my way to the interstate. By the time I got to my hotel, it was about 11:30 pm (which is 2:30 am my time!). I let the woman at the front desk know that my luggage was supposed to arrive and if she could call me when it got there. I didn't want to be surprised in the morning if it hadn't arrived. Well, at about 2:30 am, I got a call saying my luggage had arrived. I scurried out of bed and answered the door when the security guy came and delivered it. So, I went back to sleep for a couple of more hours, got up and got ready for my meeting.
My meeting was supposed to last from 8-5, but we got done a little early and I ended up getting to the airport around 3:30. My flight didn't leave until 10:00 pm!!! So, I sat around the airport for 6.5 hours! UGH! Boring....but I did read a lot of my book, which was really good! The didn't have an earlier flight so that wasn't an option. All in all, my trip was not that great, but it is over now. We got a lot accomplished in the meeting so that was the most important part!

So, on to some good news. Tabatha, is pregnant! YAY! I am so excited, I can't even stand it! She told me while I was at the airport in Seattle and I looked like a fool crying in the shuttle. I didn't care...I am so happy for her and Kevin. They have been trying for a couple of months so it was definitely good news! She is feeling pretty good and she has her first doctor's appointment tomorrow. It is pretty exciting that our babies will be about a year or so apart! Hers is due around the middle of June! Pretty cool! We

She was down here this weekend to get her hair done and my sister got her bachelor's degree and her graduation was on Saturday. I was on my way to the graduation but my parent's told me that it probably was not a good idea to come because it was so crowded. Norfolk had a wine festival and with the graduation, parking was horrible. They had to park in a parking garage far away and walk, in the rain, to where the graduation was held. Then, they were sitting all the way at the top of the Scope and my mom said I would not be able get Brody's stroller up there. But, we did meet them for lunch afterwards. It was nice. Missy finally did it and we were all so proud of her (even though everyone left a little early :) and I know she is super stoked to have this part of school over with. Here are some pictures from lunch!

And here is one of Brody trying to crawl. He is now starting to rock back and forth and did actually lunge forward the other day. I am sure it is going to happen before we know it!

Well, I am going to go watch the game. It is the last game in the ALCS and the Red Sox have a chance of making it to the World Series again this year. Keep your fingers crossed! Mine are (and my toes!) Go Sox! :)

Nice Weekend!

We had a pretty relaxing weekend. Since Ethan hurt his ankle, he couldn't go to Karate so we didn't leave the house on Saturday. It was actually pretty nice to not be running around all day long. This morning when I dropped Ethan off at school, I told him I was going to walk in there and talk to the office so I knew everything was okay with him being out of school last week (Stephanie kept him home for 3 days last week!). He totally did not want me to go into school with him. He said I didn't need to and that I could just drop him off. I told him I just wanted to make sure I didn't need to do anything and to let them know that Ted would be picking him up from school today. Even as we were walking into the school, he still kept saying, "You could have dropped me off. You don't need to go in!" I guess he was embarassed and didn't want me walking him into school. Oh to be that age again and have that as your only worry! :)

After Brody's nap on Saturday morning, I brought him down and decided to have some tummy time with him to see if he would attempt to crawl. He still does not like to be on his tummy for long periods of time, but he actually was having fun playing and rolling around. He was attempting to crawl and would get up on his arms and back away from me. It was funny. He was also trying to grab for his toys and as soon as he would almost reach it, I would pull it back a little more just to see if he would come forward and grab it. He would get frustrated and then give up and start to put his hands in his mouth. Everything goes in his mouth now....his bib, his burp cloth, toys, his hands....everything!
I introduced Brody to the sippy cup for the first time this weekend. He wasn't sure what to do with it and brough it up to his mouth, but would only chew on the top. He did get a little bit of water that was in it and had this face like, "what the hell was that?" Needless to say, his attention span was pretty short and the sippy cup became uninteresting to him.
I was also trying to get another picture of the boys to post on my blog and Brody was more excited with what was going on with Ethan. One of the pictures below shows Brody looking like he is pulling Ethan's hair. Oh Ethan, this is just the beginning! :) I ended up getting a good one that I posted on the right side of the page. There is too much testosterone in my house....I need some estrogen! :)
I told Ted to smile more and not to look so blah in the picture. This is what I got!
Today, I am getting ready to leave for a work trip to Washington State. I don't want to go, but we are meeting with our partners on this opportunity and I have to, so no other choice. Our meeting is all day tomorrow and then I am taking the red eye back tomorrow night. I am supposed to get in around 10:00 am Wednesday morning and I decided to work from home because I am sure I will be pretty tired. Atleast it is a small trip. Ted is on Daddy-duty for the next couple of days. It will give him some bonding time with Brody without me being around to distract either one of them! Have fun Daddy!!
Hope everyone has a good week!

Ethan's Ankle

Ted picked up Ethan tonight and he came hobbling in the house on his crutches...poor thing! I remember what that was like and it sucks! After dinner, we told him to take the bandage off his ankle so we could see what it looked like. I have to say....I was shocked! It looks horrible. It is so swollen and he has a horrible bruise. I am surprised that he didn't break it...just from the looks of it. We tried to get a couple of pictures of it, but I don't think they do it justice. It looks really bad! (I know you are just dying to see pictures of Ethan's feet!)

One final thought...the Red Sox start the ALCS tonight against the Tampa Bay Rays! My fingers are crossed that they get into the World Series! Let's go for a repeat of last year! :)

Here are a few pictures I took yesterday. There is also one from this weekend where he fell asleep in the car and he just looked so cute, I didn't want to wake him up!

Ethan

So, we found out today that Ethan sprained his ankle at school. Apparently, he was playing on the playground and it was time to go in and he fell off the slide and landed on his ankle wrong. He said he heard a pop and couldn't put any pressure on it. Stephanie took him to the ER and they did an x-ray and didn't see anything on broken. They put a hard splint on it and he has crutches. They said that if he wasn't better in a week, they want him to come back and they are going to do another x-ray. Poor baby! It stinks being on crutches....I know from experience. Hopefully, it will feel better in the next couple of days. Atleast it isn't broken...that's a good thing! We are supposed to get him this weekend and I am hoping he will atleast feel a little better. This does mean that he won't be able to do karate for a little while, atleast until he can put pressure on it and it doesn't hurt. That may be a while, but we will see!

Not much else has been going on. Brody has officially cut the tooth on the top that is next to his left front tooth. Like I posted previously, it is pretty weird that that one decided to come in first, rather than the two front ones. But, what will come will come! Other than that, he hasn't done much else. He is rolling everywhere, which is funny, and is still talking alot. I will post some pictures in the morning....

Have a good night!

Funny Video

I was trying to get Brody saying dadadada on video today but got the video below instead. It is funny. He cracks up laughing anytime I fake a sneeze. I guess the sound is funny to him. Check it out!

Another Tooth!

So, Brody has cut another tooth! This one is on the top, but it looks like it is the left of his two front teeth. Not sure if it is the edge of his left front or the tooth next to it. Pretty weird! I thought after the two bottom teeth came in, he got his two top front teeth. I guess we will see. But that explains maybe why he was getting up around 3:30 for a couple nights. Last night, he slept until 7:00, so that was good. I am not sure if it was the teething or if it was the fact that we cut back the amount of cereal he was getting at night. He used to get two oz. of cereal at night before bed, but I tried to cut it back to 1 oz. I moved it back up a little just to see and he did sleep through all the way through last night so I guess I will try and cut it back slowly. He is now starting to eat veggies for lunch and dinner along with a bottle and he gets cereal and fruit in the morning. Times they are a changing!

I haven't posted pictures in a while so here are a few from this past week. In a couple of pictures, you can really see his two bottom teeth. He looks so cute when he smiles now because you can really see them. He is also starting to lock his arms when he gets on his tummy so crawling might be right around the corner. Ted was trying to help him along by propping his knees up, but he is so ticklish, he just kept laughing. It was pretty funny!
