Funny Video of Brody

This past weekend, I had the privlege of watching Mallory while Tab went to help Kevin with his banquet on Saturday. I had my first taste of a newborn and toddler at the same time. Although, my parents came over to help. Thanks Mom and Dad! They helped with Brody alot which was good because Mallory needed to be fed when it was time to put Brody down. All in all, she had her fussy moments, but she was really good. She fell asleep around 7:45 and Tab woke her up at midnight to feed her. She was back down by 1:00 and slept until 7:00. YAY Mallory!
Yesterday, Brody was in rare form. He was cracking us up. Ted took this video of him adjusting his pants when they were pulled up too high. My dad commented that he has such a plump little belly that his pants sit right below is belly. Well, he had pulled them up and Brody sucked in his stomach to get them where he wanted it. Thankfully we were able to get it on video. It was hilarious!!

Here are some other pictures we took from this weekend....Brody has such an awesome personality. He is soooo funny and he definitely keeps us laughing!

Brody loves his big brother! Pretty soon, Brody will be a big brother too! :)

My monkey with his monkey! :)

Being silly with Daddy's hat!

This is what he does when we tell him to flex his muscles! It is so funny!

Whaddya say Doc?

Last week I took Brody to the doctor. For the past couple of months, he has been fighting a double ear infection. The antibiotics they had him on weren't touching it and when he went for his 15 month check up, which was two weeks ago, his doctor put him on Zithromax. Apparently that is a stronger antibiotic which she said should clear it up. His doctor also gave me the number of the ENT because she said he shouldn't be having to fight this hard to get rid of them, especially since it is not cold and flu season. So we did the antiobiotic for 5 days. Well, 2 days after he took his last dosage, he started running a fever. That was last Saturday. He only went to daycare 2 days last week because we couldn't seem to knock the fever out. Since he was still running a fever last Thursday, I called and got him in on Friday. My doctor wasn't there so I saw another one in the practice and he checked his ears out and said while he still had fluid in his ears, it was clear fluid and there was no infection! Whew! Thank goodness. He still told me to keep the appointment with the ENT because he needs to be seen and possibly talk about tubes!

Well, I thought the ears might have been the culprit, but since the ears checked out fine I wasn't sure what was going on. He did the typically check of the lungs, the nose and when he got to his throat, he nodded his head and said "yep, just what I thought." He then sat back and said, "Looks like he has a virus called coxsackie virus." I said "Huh? Whatddy say?" Apparently, it is similar to hand, foot and mouth disease, but they only have the blisters in the back of their throat, not on their hands or feet. He had asked me if he was having any other issues other than the fever. Had he been having trouble eating, drinking, and sleeping. I said nope, nope, and nope. Well, apparently the virus just has to run its course and he said to push plenty of liquids and give him the tylenol/motrin mixture for the fever and pain. Well, he didn't have a fever all weekend so I think he was on the tail end of this virus when I took him on Friday. I think he is all better now. Have you ever heard of that virus? I certainly didn't! Pretty crazy. Damn daycare is just a breeding ground for germs. Tab calls it a petrie dish! So true!

I am worried about our visit to the ENT. It is scheduled for August 5th at the children's hospital, but I am on the cancellation list in case something opens up sooner. I absolutely don't want him to get tubes because they have to put him out for it and I remember seeing my poor nephew after he had his tonsils out when he came out of the anesthesia and it broke my heart. I was supposed to be there for Christy as the strong one, and broke down right with her! I can't even imagine it being Brody! But, from everything I have heard, the tubes are the best thing for them when they are having issues with their ears and who knows? They may not even suggest going down that route. We will just have to wait and see.

On to the youngest......I have officially started to feel the baby move. Just little flutters here and there, but enough for me to know that he or she is here! Pretty exciting. I go to the doctor next Friday and I have to do my glucose test for gestational diabetes. They are testing me early since he thinks I may have been borderline. UGH! I certainly hope I don't have it! But, we will wait and see on that one. At that appointment, I will hopefully schedule my 20 week ultrasound for 2 weeks later to find out what we are having. Ted has some trips coming up, but it looks like he will be around the second week of August, which is when I can hopefully schedule it! I am so excited. I have a feeling it is a girl, but I totally would not be upset if it is another boy. It would be nice to close the family with a girl since we already have 2 boys, but 3 boys wouldn't be bad either!

Not much is going on with Ethan. He has been playing outside much more, which makes me so happy. Since it is the summer time, I would much rather he be playing outside than inside playing the computer or watching TV. The kids next door are outside a lot too and they are alwasy coming over to see if he can come out. They seem to have a good time together, which is nice. It definitely is nice for him to have kids to play with.

Don't have new pictures to post just yet. I have kind of been lazy with the camera. Although, tonight we did break out Brody's little potty and have been teaching him to sit on it. I think it is time. After his bath, he has started this habit of coming into his room, squatting and start peeing on the floor. So, the potty came out and we are going to see if we can get him to start using that. This is one task I am not looking forward to, but you have to start sometime! He knows what we are talking about when we ask him if he needs to go pee-pee. He squats, grabs his diaper and says "pee-pee, pee-pee" Hopefully, the word association will help with this daunting task!

Anyway, that is an update on all of us! Hope everyone is doing well and have a great week!

Holiday Weekend

Hope everyone had a safe holiday weekend. Ours was pretty relaxing. I went up and saw Tab, Kevin, and Mallory again. In just one weeks time, that baby has already changed. She is so cute. She is a bit heavier and now when she is awake, she is definitely more alert and just loves to look around.

We have Ethan for the whole month of July! YAY! We are going to try and figure out what fun things we will plan while he is here. Hopefully, he will let me take some pictures of him! In the meantime, here are some I took the past two weekends.
