Bust a Move - Part 2

The following video is hilarious. Brody loves to dance. He hears music and immediately starts swaying back and forth. This video captures it perfectly. He even puts my Mom's phone down at one point, claps his hands, and then starts really busting it out. I absolutely love it!

The second video is of him making animal sounds. At the end, I wanted him to count, but he wasn't interested. I love how he says Meow!

My Baby is Growing Up

Brody is scheduled to move up to the next class at daycare. The scariest part is that they take naps on cots rather than in cribs. I can't believe it. He has started the transition and will be eating lunch and taking his nap in the big boy room this week and he officially starts his new class on Monday. I called yesterday after nap time to see how he did and they said that he did good. He slept on the cot for an hour and half. Today, they said he didn't do as good. Apparently my man is a big talker and didn't want to lay there. He wanted to get up, walk around and talk to the other kids. Of course, they said this will just take some adjustment time. I was curious as to how this might affect his sleep at night. Right now he is in bed by 7:00 every night and sleeps until about 7:00. Thank goodness that hasn't been affected. I have been watching him closely in the monitor the last couple of nights just to make sure and all is well.

While I am sad to see him leave his current class because I like his teacher, I am glad to see him advancing. It is amazing to me how much he has learned in the 5 months he has been there. I look at him and can't believe that my baby is 1 1/2. He is such a polite (says please all the time) well-mannered kid. We have our moments, but 98% of the time, he is so happy and has such a great personality. This past weekend, he has started to say to me "I love you baby." He has always said I love you when you say it to him, but now he has added the baby part. It melts my heart. His vocabulary is huge and he constantly amazes me with what he knows (he knows how to count to 10!)

For the past week, I have started sitting with him in the rocker before he goes in his crib at night because I know that those singular moments of just him and I might be few and far between once Molly comes. But, he gives me a kiss and hug and then he bends down and kisses my belly and hugs my belly and says "Night-night Molly" (or his version is "Mow-e) God I love this kid! He has definitely added a whole other dimension to my life and I can't imagine my life before him. Sorry to be so mushy...must be the hormones!

Anyway, I have a few videos and pics that I am going to try and post this week sometime. Just haven't had a chance to download them from my camera.

Ted comes home from Hawaii in the morning (YAY!) and he is not scheduled to travel anymore for work for the rest of this year. Of course, it is now hunting season, but those are shorter trips and not that big of a deal. I am sure Brody will be mr. shyguy tomorrow when he sees his Daddy, but I know he will get over that quick.

Hope everyone has a good week. I am off to watch some shows I tivo'd. I love fall TV!

Scary Friday

Yesterday morning, I got one of the worst calls of my life. My dad called to say that my Mom had been in an accident. She was driving to work and since it had been raining the night before, the interstate was extremely wet. She hit a patch of water and spun the truck out, and from what the witnesses were saying, she rolled the truck 6-7 times before finally stopping on its side. There were two witnesses, a guy and his son-in-law, who stopped to help and pulled her out the back window. They took her by ambulance to the trauma center at one of our local hospitals and she suffered a broken rib and a burn on her arm from the airbag when it deployed. THAT WAS IT! I have to say that we are all so thankful that those two guys were there to pull my Mom out. And, based on the pictures posted below, we are extremely grateful that all she suffered was a broken rib and a burn.

These are pictures of the truck after they towed it to the junk yard. We are still in disbelief! She is in much more pain today and has realized some additional bruising and burns, but hopefully, she will start to feel a little better tomorrow. I can't even begin to describe how happy I am that she is okay!

Brody's Stats

I took Brody to the doctor today for his 18 month checkup. Here are is latest stats:

Head - 19.25 inches
Length - 34.5 inches
Weight - 33.1 lbs.

She said that even though he is still off the weight chart, she is not that surprised. She said that he is definitely going to be a football player when he gets older. I laughed because we are constantly joking about that. He has his daddy's body, that's for sure.

I asked her many questions about the swine flu, which she reassured me about that subject. She isn't sure when they are going to get the vaccine, but she told me since he doesn't really have any other medical issues, than he should be good. He did get the regular flu vaccine today and also got his chicken pox vaccine.

I talked to her about his tummy issues and she is referring us to a gastroenterologist. I am going to call this morning and see when I can get him in. I am also going to start monitoring the menu at daycare to see if there is some food that he is eating that is causing his tummy problems. Hopefully, we can figure out what is going on and start to solve these issues.

Other than that, all is well.

Good Weekend!

This weekend was the weekend to get all the baby stuff we need. I never realized how much stuff I would need given the fact that I already had one. I mean, we already had most of the big stuff, but I spent an obscene amount of money on getting the other stuff. I am now going to be one of those moms with a double stroller! I had a hard enough time maneuvering Brody's travel system, this ought to be fun. On Saturday, Tab, my mom and her mom went shopping for some clothes first (Tab said she needed to get Mallory some back to school clothes since she starts daycare on the 30th) and then we headed to Babies R Us. Like I said, I can't believe how much I spent just getting some of the basics. But, I am pretty much done. I just need to get a few more things and we will be done.

My parents came over today and started on Brody's room. They finished Ethan's room a couple of weeks ago and we have now moved on to Brody's new room. Since Ted is out of town, they have been extremely helpful with getting stuff ready. I can't thank them enough. Once Brody's new room is painted, we are going to move him and then get her room ready. I am excited and nervous about moving Brody. I am hoping the move doesn't disturb his rock solid schedule. I realize it may take him a few days to get used to it, but hopefully it will be an easy transition for him.

Tomorrow, he goes to his 18 month appointment. He had a little accident at daycare last week where he fell on a shelf in his classroom. When I went to pick him up, I almost lost it because he looked pitiful. He had a huge knot between his eyes and it is still swollen and now starting to change colors. I am going to have his doc check him out tomorrow to make sure all is good. He seems to be fine, but it was definitely a bad one. Here is a pic that I took from my phone the night after it happened. This does not do it justice, I can tell you that!

Well...I hope everyone has a good week. I am excited about the season premiere of some of my favorite shows coming on this week. Its the little things! :)

We have a scheduled due date

I had a doctor's appointment this morning. All is good. Her heartbeat was 146 and she was kicking around the whole time he was checking for it. It was kind of funny. I go back on October 8th and they are planning to do another ultrasound since my placenta was low. He wants to make sure it has moved. I am also getting my glucose test done again just to make sure I don't have gestational diabetes. When he measured me, I am measuring about a week ahead so I am thinking this might be another big one here.

I asked him when we would schedule my c-section and he said that we could schedule it now. The earliest they could do it is one week before my due date which is Monday, December 21st. He said that he doesn't normally do c-sections on Mondays (that is his day to see patients) but he will do it then so we can make sure we are in and out of the hospital before Christmas. I thought that was super nice of him. With Brody, I stayed in the hospital for 2 days as opposed to the 3 scheduled days and hopefully I can do the same with her. So, December 21st is her birthday, unless of course she decides to come earlier. I am excited that we have a definite date! :)

Weekend of Firsts

This weekend was a weekend of firsts for both Brody and Mallory. Tab came down on Friday and we went to get Mallory's ears pierced. She did amazingly well and cried for a hot second as the lady did the piercing. After that, she didn't fuss at all...not even when Tab cleaned them. She looks adorable with little rhinestone earrings....here is a picture..you can't see them real well, but they are there.

Then on Saturday, we decided to take them to the zoo. While it technically wasn't Brody's first time it would be the first time that he actually could react to things. Well, what we thought would be a nice day to go ended up being hotter than all get out. I don't think we were there for even an hour. It was hot, there was alot of walking, Tab was worried about Mallory getting sunburned, I was starting to swell from the heat, and Brody didn't really care about the animals. He was much more excited to be strolling around in his old stroller rather than the small one we have. So, we left there and headed back home.

One of the other things we did was go through all of Brody's old clothes. I had them in boxes in his closet with the hopes of saving them for the next baby but now that won't work. I have to say I did get emotional a bit going through them. Tab convinced me to keep some of the things that I just couldn't part with. I kept the outfit he came home in the hospital in, a few pair of shoes, the overalls he wore for his first picture, and a few other things. I was also able to keep some things for our little one. But the rest, we dropped off a goodwill. It was 9 boxes in total....a little ridiculous, I know, but you never know you have that much until it is all put together.

I have started to realize that the days of us being in the house are long gone. Brody wants to be going all the time and I think he is pretty much bored staying in the house all day. Today, we took him to the mall and bought him some winter clothes. I am definitely having some issues when it comes to pants for him. He is shaped just like his daddy so jeans having been posing a bit of a problem. But, luckily, I was able to find some 24 month jeans at Children's Place which fit him pretty good, and we also bought a few long sleeve shirts. As Tab keeps reminding me, we will have a little girl in our presence in 3 months and I am not prepared for her when it comes to clothes. It is like I can't wrap my brain around the fact that we are having a little girl.

Here are a few other pics from the weekend. As much as I don't want to go to work tomorrow, I am looking forward to my doctor's appointment on Friday. The little one has been kicking me up a storm, which is a good thing. I don't remember Brody kicking this much so early, but then again, I have heard every pregnancy is different. Hope everyone has a good week!
Here is he after he got upset when I wouldn't let him have the camera...

Bust a Move....

I have been meaning to get Brody on video dancing, but unfortunately, I haven't had the camera at the right time to get him on film. Tonight, I ran and got the camera really quick and we had a mini vocab lesson and then he started dancing. He is so cute when he does it cause he used to just sway back and forth but he has started to put his arms in to it.

Also, Mee-Maw is his favorite word. He is obsessed with her, like we all are! :)
