Famous Last Words from Brody Crumb......

I just had to post this because 1) I thought it was hilarious and 2) I want it documented so I will always remember it.

On Wednesday, I was on my way to drop Molly and Brody off at their respective daycares! (Sorry Mom....I know you are not a daycare! :) Whenever I am driving and Brody is in the car, I always adjust my rearview mirror so I can see him and talk to him. So, I am looking at him in the mirror and this was our conversation......

Me: Brody, what are you doing?
Brody: I am going to see my friends.....
Me: Tell me what friends you are going to see....what are their names?
Brody: (pause)
Me: Brody?
Brody: He looks at me and says..."Don't look at me in the mirror, Mommy.....why you looking at me in the mirror?"
Me: Because your handsome and I like to look at your face!
Brody: I said stop it Mommy. You hear me? What did I say? I said Stop it!

Of course, he doesn't say any of this in a real mean way and I couldn't help but bust out laughing. At first, I wasn't sure where he got all of that from. And the dialogue above is not exagerrated. He said each and every one of those words and clear as day. After thinking about it, I realized that of course, he picked it up from Ted and me. When he isn't listening, we say that to him all the time...."Brody, don't do that....I said stop doing that. Do you hear me? What did I say?"

All if I have to say is Oh dear! He is going to be T-R-O-U-B-L-E when he gets older. I guess it starts young! He gets it honestly.....from me!

Busy, Busy, Busy

This past week has been crazy. I am working on a really big project at work and I had a deadline by COB on Wednesday. I ended up working on Monday, instead of working from home, and then stayed late Monday night and Tuesday night. My office is a little creepy at night, when it is pitch black and no one else is there! But, I am glad that my draft got out and I was able to relax a little bit on Thursday and Friday. I actually was able to take off on Friday to spend the day with my sister since she left this morning. She will be back in 3 weeks for good, which is exciting. I am so glad she is heading home. It will be nice to have everyone close again.

Yesterday, since I had the day off, we decided to take the kids to the Living Museum. Ted was able to take the day off too so it was a large family outing. I decided to be a bit adventurous and stay out all day, instead of having Brody take his nap. In his whole 2 and half years, I think he has missed his nap maybe 3 times......so I wasn't sure how he was going to deal. He did great! He never napped but was really good. Last night, he zonked out pretty early, which we pretty much expected because we knew he had to be tired. The living museum was cool and it was so much fun to see Brody's reaction to some of the exhibits. There was a fake turtle shell that was big enough for kids to climb in, but Brody would not get near it. My sister tried to take his picture, but he wasn't having it! I definitely plan to take him there again.

Ted's birthday was on Wednesday and Tab and Kevin came down today and we are going to go out to dinner tonight to celebrate. My parents are going to watch the kiddies, so it will be nice to have an adult outing. I can't wait.

In other good news, Ted ended up getting the government job he wanted! He found out last week and he officially starts on August 16th. He definitely wanted to be a government employee so he is really excited. The best part too is that he won't have to travel nearly as much as he has in his current job. Thank God! As much as it was nice for him to travel, it will be nice for him to be home more. I am really proud of him and I hope he ends up enjoying the job.

Other than that, not much else is going on. We have started encouraging Brody to use the potty more, but he really wants nothing to do with it. He will sit on it, but he won't go. Then, other times, we will ask him if he wants to go, and he will say no. I think this transition might be a bit difficult. At school, they will be working with him too so I am hoping that once he starts seeing the other kids go, he will start. But, I am not going to force it. I don't want it to be a stressful thing for him so we will see what happens.

Molly is officially crawling now.....up on her hands and knees. She is trying to pull herself up too. We are going to lower her crib here soon because she is constantly sitting up and pulling up on the side of her crib. She has started to become more vocal now and is still real laidback. Brody still doesn't really have much to do with her yet. He has interacted with her more, but not as much as I was expecting. I hope that as she gets older, he will have more to do with her. It will be nice for him to have a little play buddy (except for Mommy and Daddy!)

Here are some recent pictures.......

Ashleigh and Molly....I can't believe how old Ashleigh and Anthony are now!

I was waiting for this to happen one day. We put Brody down for his nap, and sometimes, he will get up and get a book from his drawer. He must have grabbed one, decided to look at it on the floor, and fell asleep. He slept like this for almost 2 hours!

Mallory looking all cute and posing for the camera!

This is what Brody looked like after playing outside for like 15 minutes last weekend. It was digustingly hot and humid. I don't even know how he could stand it out there

This is her supermodel pose......

I love this picture of Brody and Molly.....they were watching TV. It didn't last long......

We started introducing the sippy cup to Molly...she does pretty good with it.

I love both of their looks in these two pictures. We see this often from both of them....
