I think now is definitely the time for sickness. The Thursday before last, which just so happened to be the day I got my flu shot, I started feeling pretty crappy and didn't want to take any chances, so I went to the doctor to make sure I wasn't getting the flu. Not to say I was getting it from the flu shot itself because they say you can't get the flu from the flu shot, but I just felt icky. So, they checked me out and said I ha an upper respiratory infection and prescribed me an antibiotic. I thought I was better on Friday and Saturday, but started to feel worse on Sunday and Monday so I stayed home last Tuesday and went back to the doctor. Well, what started out as an upper respiratory infection turned in to the beginnings of pneumonia! Fantastic! They prescribed me a more potent, yet safe for the baby, antibiotic to try and knock it out. I initially got scared because they say pneumonia in pregnant women is pretty bad and can become worse if it is associated with the flu. So I stayed home Tuesday and Wednesday and went back to work on Thursday, feeling better, but not 100%. I finished my antibiotic on Saturday and still feel a little congested, but better than I was. I have a doctor's appointment on Friday and I am going to say something to him. I feel like now I have an ear infection so hopefully he can check that out for me. I don't want to go back on antibiotics....want to give baby girl a break!
To make matters worse, we were supposed to have Ethan this past weekend, but his mother texted Ted on Thursday saying he had a fever and chills and she was taking him to the doctor. Essentially, they said while he tested negative for the flu, they pretty much diagnosed him for that based on his symptoms. He still had a fever as of Sunday night, which meant he was out of school on Monday but I am hoping he was able to go back today.
Luckily, knock on wood, Brody seems to be doing good. But, Ted leaves to go out of town in the morning and won't be back until Sunday, which means Brody will probably end up getting sick! I swear he has some separation anxiety issues when Daddy goes out of town! :)
I will leave you with this. Tab sent this picture to me this morning, which has been on her phone for a while. I think it is such a cute pic that I have made it my background at work! I swear, what a cutie! I can't believe we are getting ready to have another one like him in 8 short weeks!
